R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Billy Streu has received the MSW Outstanding Field
  Award from the Texas State University School of Social Work; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas Tech University, Mr. Streu is
  pursuing his master of social work degree from Texas State; he is
  the emergency housing voucher service coordinator for Texas
  Homeless Network; in this role, he works to ensure that EHV
  recipients can secure housing quickly and access services that
  promote stability in their lives; he previously served the
  organization as a policy analyst intern; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Streu has completed a Masters of Social Work
  internship at the State Capitol benefiting residents of House
  District 45; during his tenure in the office of State
  Representative Erin Zwiener, he connected several constituent
  families with mortgage assistance; he also provided research and
  analysis as a subject matter expert on homelessness, housing,
  finance, and financial social work; in addition, he held meetings
  with stakeholders and contributed to the drafting of legislative
  proposals used to request bill drafts for the 88th Legislative
  Session; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in Lubbock, Mr. Streu has worked in
  nonprofit and faith-based organizations, as well as in financial
  services; he gained international experience during five years in
  Bosnia-Herzegovina with Operation Mobilization, a multinational
  ministry; and
         WHEREAS, Billy Streu has demonstrated an admirable
  commitment to economic justice and safe housing for all, and his
  continuing efforts are sure to help many Texans in the years to
  come; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Billy Streu on his receipt of the
  MSW Outstanding Field Award from the Texas State University School
  of Social Work and extend to him sincere best wishes for success in
  all his endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Streu as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
