R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the
  passing of Pamela Courier Shoup on January 21, 2023, at the age of
  67; and
         WHEREAS, A native Texan, the former Pamela Courier was born
  at Fort Hood on December 11, 1955, to David and Nora Courier; she
  grew up primarily in Southport, Indiana, and enjoyed the
  companionship of her three siblings, Lynn, Dan, and Dave; she
  graduated from Indiana University, earning a degree from the Paul
  H. O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Shoup met her future husband, Greg Shoup, at
  Indiana University, and they exchanged wedding vows in 1978; the
  couple went on to share a rewarding marriage that spanned four and a
  half decades and took them from San Jose to Boca Raton to Austin;
  they became the proud parents of two sons, Brad and Jeff, and with
  the passing years, Mrs. Shoup experienced the joy of welcoming into
  her family six beloved grandchildren, Henry, Daniel, Paul, Sylvia,
  Esther, and Thomas, who preceded her in death; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to serving others, Mrs. Shoup worked as a
  Christian school educator, and she also gave generously of her time
  as a volunteer; she was admired by those around her for her
  independent nature, her keen intellect, and her deep empathy; and
         WHEREAS, Pamela Shoup led a life of caring devotion to her
  loved ones, and although she is deeply missed, her spirit will
  forever live in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Pamela Courier
  Shoup and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family:
  to her husband, Greg Shoup; to her sons, Brad Shoup and his wife,
  Catherine, and Jeff Shoup and his wife, Lauren; to her siblings,
  Lynn and her husband, Jim, and Dan and his wife, Diana; to her
  brothers-in-law, Mark and his wife, Cathy, Steve, and Scott and his
  wife, Beth; to her grandchildren, Henry, Daniel, Paul, Sylvia, and
  Esther; and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Pamela
  Shoup.
