R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A full and generous life drew to a close with the
  passing of Frances Geraldine Wilson of Leander on March 31, 2023, at
  the age of 97; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Thomas Wesley Cox and Effie Margaret
  Cox, the former Jeri Cox was born in Lockney on September 25, 1925;
  she grew up with three sisters, Queenie, Reta, and Linda, and two
  brothers, Kenneth and Robert; after graduating from Stephen F.
  Austin High School in Austin, she attended Mary Hardin-Baylor
  College; she wed Robert "Bob" Wilson Jr. in May 1946, and they were
  blessed with a son, Tommy, and a daughter, Patricia; while her
  children were young, she devoted herself to her family and their
  home in the historic Hyde Park neighborhood of Austin; she later
  worked at Austin Stationery, The University of Texas Baptist
  Student Union, Hyde Park Baptist Church, and Skyview Baptist
  Church; in 1963, the Wilsons relocated to Rosanky; and
         WHEREAS, Sustained by a strong faith, Mrs. Wilson gave freely
  of her time and talents to the churches where her husband was
  pastor; she served in the nursery, as a GA leader, and as a Sunday
  school teacher, and she was a mentor to many; in her leisure time,
  she enjoyed bird watching, growing flowers, playing Scrabble, and
  passing along her skill in tatting; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Wilson and her husband shared a fulfilling
  marriage of 63 years until his death; she took great pride in her
  three grandchildren, as well as her seven great-grandchildren and
  great-great-granddaughter; the treasured matriarch of the Cox
  cousins, she was affectionately known as Aunt Jeri or "Nein Nein" to
  her numerous nieces and nephews; she loved sending cards to family
  and friends and never forgot a birthday or anniversary; in
  addition, she sent words of encouragement through card ministries
  at her churches; and
         WHEREAS, Although Jeri Wilson is deeply missed by those she
  left behind, the passage of time will never diminish the joy and
  kindness she brought into their lives, and they will forever hold
  her close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Frances Geraldine
  Wilson and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family:
  to her children, Tommy Wilson and his wife, Blenda, and Patricia
  Widner; to her grandchildren, Angie Ruth and her husband, Steve,
  Trenton Widner, and Gerald Widner and his wife, Aimee; to her
  great-grandchildren, Callie McPherson and her husband, Logan,
  Casey Ruth, Kyle Ruth, Bentley Widner, Shawn Jewett, Aurora Widner,
  and Beaux Widner; to her great-great-granddaughter, Jolie
  McPherson; and to her many other relatives and friends; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Frances
  Geraldine "Jeri" Wilson.
