R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert Vargas of Andrews County Airport is being |
|
|
honored as the Airport Professional of the Year at the Texas |
|
|
Department of Transportation 41st Annual Texas Aviation Conference |
|
|
in April 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Vargas has served as manager of the Andrews |
|
|
County Airport since 2010; he oversees maintenance, operations, and |
|
|
customer service at the site, and through the years, other Texas |
|
|
airports have adopted his practices in such areas as wildlife |
|
|
management and property beautification; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Widely respected, Mr. Vargas represents Texas |
|
|
Panhandle aviation facilities as a member of the Texas Airport |
|
|
System Plan Project Advisory Committee; among his contributions, he |
|
|
helps develop strategic next-generation initiatives while |
|
|
advocating for the increased awareness of and investment in the |
|
|
rural airports of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his leadership, hard work, and commitment to |
|
|
excellence, Robert Vargas has earned the lasting respect and |
|
|
admiration of his peers, and he is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Robert Vargas on his selection as |
|
|
the 2023 Airport Professional of the Year by the Texas Department of |
|
|
Transportation and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
|
future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Vargas as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
