R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jessica Tom of Texas Tech University Health Sciences |
|
|
Center El Paso has greatly benefited her fellow students through |
|
|
her service as president of the Student Government Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The TTUHSC El Paso Student Government Association |
|
|
acts as the voice of the student body to the college administration, |
|
|
with elected members representing the interests and concerns of |
|
|
their peers and advocating for students' rights; the organization |
|
|
also provides leadership and professional development |
|
|
opportunities as participants strive to improve the school's social |
|
|
and educational experience; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In order to foster positive change, the TTUHSC El |
|
|
Paso Student Government Association facilitates communication |
|
|
between students, administration, faculty, staff, and community |
|
|
organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Student Government Association plays a valuable |
|
|
role in supporting Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El |
|
|
Paso students as they develop a solid educational foundation for |
|
|
future achievement, and Jessica Tom is indeed worthy of |
|
|
recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Jessica Tom for her service as president |
|
|
of the Student Government Association at Texas Tech University |
|
|
Health Sciences Center El Paso and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Tom as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
