R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Cira Vera of The University of Texas at El Paso has |
|
|
greatly benefited her fellow students through her service as vice |
|
|
president of external affairs of the Student Government |
|
|
Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The UTEP Student Government Association acts as the |
|
|
voice of the student body to the college administration, with |
|
|
elected members representing the interests and concerns of their |
|
|
peers and advocating for students' rights; the organization also |
|
|
provides leadership and professional development opportunities as |
|
|
participants strive to improve the school's social and educational |
|
|
experience; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In order to foster positive change, the UTEP Student |
|
|
Government Association facilitates communication between students, |
|
|
administration, faculty, staff, and community organizations; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Student Government Association plays a valuable |
|
|
role in supporting The University of Texas at El Paso students as |
|
|
they develop a solid educational foundation for future achievement, |
|
|
and Cira Vera is indeed worthy of recognition; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Cira Vera for her service as vice |
|
|
president of external affairs of the Student Government Association |
|
|
at The University of Texas at El Paso and extend to her sincere best |
|
|
wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Vera as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
