R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Memories of a life well lived remain to comfort the |
|
family and friends of Alfred Eugene Hagan, who passed away on April |
|
10, 2023, at the age of 83; and |
|
WHEREAS, The son of Eugene Hagan and Anna Dais Hagan, Alfred |
|
Hagan was born on December 6, 1939, in Mobile, Alabama; he attended |
|
St. Peter Claver Grade School and Most Pure Heart of Mary High |
|
School and continued his education at Xavier University of |
|
Louisiana; he later moved to Houston, where he enrolled at Texas |
|
Southern University; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Hagan was drafted into the U.S. Army, and |
|
following his tour of duty, he received an honorable discharge; he |
|
subsequently began a rewarding career with the City of Houston and |
|
retired from the city after many years of service; and |
|
WHEREAS, A skilled athlete, Mr. Hagan played many sports |
|
during his youth, and he embraced tennis as an adult, earning the |
|
nickname "Chip & Dip" for his distinctive playing style; and |
|
WHEREAS, Above all else, Mr. Hagan took great pride in his |
|
daughter, Kenah, and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of |
|
welcoming a granddaughter, Kayden, into the family; and |
|
WHEREAS, Alfred Hagan will be deeply missed, and those who |
|
were privileged to share in his love and friendship will always |
|
remember him with great admiration and affection; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Alfred Eugene Hagan |
|
and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his |
|
daughter, Kenah Hagan; to his granddaughter, Kayden Johnson; and to |
|
his other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Alfred |
|
Hagan. |
