R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Cockerham Lynch has been named a recipient of |
|
a 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award by the Killeen Independent School |
|
District Alumni Association; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each year, the alumni association recognizes |
|
Killeen ISD graduates who have contributed significantly to their |
|
communities or professions and who serve as inspiring role models |
|
for future generations; and |
|
WHEREAS, Sarah Cockerham Lynch attended Fowler and Bellaire |
|
Elementary Schools and Nolan Junior High School, and she graduated |
|
from Killeen High School in 1975; she went on to teach in Killeen |
|
ISD for more than a decade; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Cockerham Lynch is currently chief operating |
|
officer of R Lynch Enterprises, and together with her husband, |
|
retired U.S. Army Lieutenant General Rick Lynch, she is a dedicated |
|
advocate for military service members and their families; she |
|
serves as an ambassador for the Gary Sinise Foundation and as an |
|
advisor for Operation Finally Home, and she gives generously of her |
|
time and talents to benefit the Homes For Our Troops organization; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, The accomplishments of noteworthy alumni are a |
|
source of great pride to all those associated with Killeen ISD, and |
|
Sarah Cockerham Lynch is indeed deserving of this prestigious |
|
honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Sarah Cockerham Lynch on her |
|
receipt of a 2023 Distinguished Alumni Award from the Killeen |
|
Independent School District Alumni Association and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Cockerham Lynch as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
