R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Cynthia Longoria of ResCare Community Living in
  Harlingen has been named the Texas Direct Support Professional of
  the Year for 2023 by the American Network of Community Options and
  Resources; and
         WHEREAS, A national nonprofit trade association, ANCOR
  represents some 2,000 organizations employing direct support
  professionals (DSPs) who serve individuals with intellectual and
  developmental disabilities; each year, the association selects an
  exemplary DSP from each state who has gone above and beyond to
  ensure the safety, well-being, and inclusion of the people they
  support; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Longoria first joined what would later become
  ResCare on August 6, 1990; she was promoted to site supervisor after
  2 years, serving in that role with the company's intermediate care
  facilities program for 15 years and with its home and
  community-based services for 17; she is admired for her
  organizational and communication skills and her attention to detail
  as well as for her ability to create a warm, familial atmosphere in
  a group home setting; over the years, she has been recognized with
  the ResCare Expect the Best "Hurricane Hero" award, and she won the
  2022 ResCare "How I Change Lives" Contest; and
         WHEREAS, Through her skill, dedication, and compassion,
  Cynthia Longoria has greatly enriched the lives of ResCare clients,
  and she is indeed deserving of this notable honor; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Cynthia Longoria on her selection
  as the 2023 Texas Direct Support Professional of the Year by the
  American Network of Community Options and Resources and extend to
  her sincere best wishes for continued success with her important
  work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Longoria as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
