R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative assistant in the office of State |
|
|
Representative R. D. "Bobby" Guerra during the 88th Legislative |
|
|
Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Urcuyo has provided |
|
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, |
|
|
including policy research, bill tracking, and communication with |
|
|
stakeholders; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the |
|
|
field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative |
|
|
process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Urcuyo was born in Managua, Nicaragua, and she |
|
|
moved with her family to McAllen when she was seven years old; a |
|
|
graduate of The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, she holds a |
|
|
bachelor's degree in political science with a minor in women's and |
|
|
gender studies; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sofia Urcuyo has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative assistant with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Sofia Urcuyo for her service as a |
|
|
legislative assistant in the office of State Representative R. D. |
|
|
"Bobby" Guerra and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Urcuyo as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
