R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Fidela Ramirez Jimenez of Corpus Christi celebrated
  her 104th birthday on April 24, 2023, providing a welcome
  opportunity for family and friends to express the love and
  affection they hold for her; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Felipe and Viviana Ramirez, the
  former Fidela Ramirez was born in General Cepeda, Coahuila, Mexico,
  while her parents were visiting relatives; the family returned to
  their home in Cuero, where she grew up with her brothers and
  sisters; she became engaged to Alfonso Jimenez before he set off to
  serve in the army during World War II; upon his return from the
  European theater, they married and settled in Corpus Christi; and
         WHEREAS, The couple was blessed with three daughters, Olga,
  Rita, and Eva, and a son, Louis, and Mrs. Jimenez devoted herself to
  her home and family; she prepared delicious meals and encouraged
  her children in all their endeavors, and she was a band booster for
  Foy H. Moody High School; a valued member of Holy Family Catholic
  Church, she has served as a Eucharistic minister and as a member of
  the Guadalupanas; moreover, she instilled in her offspring a strong
  sense of faith, and they still attend the same church today; and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. and Mrs. Jimenez knew the joy
  of welcoming into their treasured family seven grandchildren,
  Jessica Therese, Arnold Christopher, Efrain, Amanda Valerie, Jason
  Philip, Leslie Kristina, and Kimberly Alexis, as well as 10
  great-grandchildren, Hayden, Madison, Oliver, Julian, Jonas,
  Silas, Mateo, Charlie, Eva Lilly, and Annalise; Mrs. Jimenez shared
  a fulfilling relationship with her husband until his passing in
  2020, at the age of 100; and
         WHEREAS, Today, this beloved centenarian continues to be
  blessed with good health, and she enjoys frequent visits from
  relatives and friends; she delights in receiving updates on the
  activities of everyone in her large circle, and she likes reading
  the daily newspaper and the Bible, doing yardwork, and tending to
  her flowerbeds; and
         WHEREAS, Thoughtful, generous, and caring, Fidela Jimenez
  has endeared herself to innumerable people over the course of more
  than a century, and it is a great pleasure to join in honoring her
  for 104 years of life well lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Fidela Ramirez Jimenez on her 104th
  birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Jimenez as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
