R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Brenda Marshall of the Corpus Christi Independent
  School District received a 2023 Women in Education Award from the
  Education Service Center Region 2 at its Outstanding Women in
  Education event on March 29; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall embarked on her career with Corpus
  Christi ISD in 1986, and since 2004, she has served as senior
  director of athletics; over the course of her tenure, she has worked
  tirelessly to improve programs and facilities for the more than
  33,000 students in the district; and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Ray High School, Ms. Marshall played
  softball for Team USA and at The University of Texas at Arlington,
  and she was the first woman named to the school's distinguished
  alumni hall of fame; in addition, she has been inducted into the
  Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor and has received the
  Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award from the National
  Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association; and
         WHEREAS, Brenda Marshall has set an outstanding example of
  leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is
  indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Brenda Marshall on her receipt of a
  2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center
  Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success
  in her important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Marshall as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
