R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Brenda Marshall of the Corpus Christi Independent |
|
|
School District received a 2023 Women in Education Award from the |
|
|
Education Service Center Region 2 at its Outstanding Women in |
|
|
Education event on March 29; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Marshall embarked on her career with Corpus |
|
|
Christi ISD in 1986, and since 2004, she has served as senior |
|
|
director of athletics; over the course of her tenure, she has worked |
|
|
tirelessly to improve programs and facilities for the more than |
|
|
33,000 students in the district; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Ray High School, Ms. Marshall played |
|
|
softball for Team USA and at The University of Texas at Arlington, |
|
|
and she was the first woman named to the school's distinguished |
|
|
alumni hall of fame; in addition, she has been inducted into the |
|
|
Coastal Bend Coaches Association Hall of Honor and has received the |
|
|
Bruce D. Whitehead Distinguished Service Award from the National |
|
|
Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Brenda Marshall has set an outstanding example of |
|
|
leadership and dedication to which others may aspire, and she is |
|
|
indeed deserving of this noteworthy honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Brenda Marshall on her receipt of a |
|
|
2023 Women in Education Award from the Education Service Center |
|
|
Region 2 and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success |
|
|
in her important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Marshall as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
