H.R. No. 1544
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Barrett Lee Rios of Scouts BSA Troop No. 8 in
  Kingwood has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this
  accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, The Eagle Scout badge is a significant honor
  bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the scouting
  movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding criteria,
  Mr. Rios earned the requisite 21 merit badges; he also successfully
  completed an Eagle Scout project that involved constructing a
  memorial bench as well as storage shelving and a mobile scoreboard
  at the Kingwood High School tennis courts; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Chris and Heather Rios, this fine young
  Texan has demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout
  his scouting career, serving as a troop guide, historian, and
  senior patrol leader; he is a recipient of the Arrow of Light Award,
  and he earned a Bronze Palm and a Gold Palm; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Rios has further distinguished himself as a
  student at Kingwood High School, where he has participated in
  tennis, orchestra, and German club; he plans to study history at The
  Citadel in Charleston, South Carolina, and pursue an active duty
  commission in the U.S. Army; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Rios's dedication to excellence and his
  perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
  stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
  on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Barrett Lee Rios on achieving the
  rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Rios as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
