R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, James F. Hill II has received a 2023 Outstanding
  Texan Award for House District 111 from the Texas Legislative Black
  Caucus; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Ennis, Mr. Hill has enjoyed a rewarding
  career with the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department spanning three and a
  half decades, and he currently serves as an engineer, paramedic,
  command technician, field training officer, and district IT
  manager; in addition, he is the commander of the honor and color
  guards; since 2007, he has worked as a logistics specialist for
  Urban Search and Rescue, Texas Task Force 2; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Hill joined the International Association of
  Black Professional Fire Fighters in 1986, and over the years, he has
  benefited the organization as director of the South Central Region,
  sergeant-at-arms, financial secretary, and executive vice
  president; he also served two terms as president of the Dallas Black
  Firefighters Association, becoming the longest-standing president
  in the group's history; along the way, he has been active in a
  number of other professional and civic organizations, including the
  Dallas Black Chamber of Commerce, the NAACP, and the Carl Holmes
  Executive Development Institute; moreover, he is a member of
  Friendship West Baptist Church in Dallas; in honor of his
  outstanding service and professional achievements, he has received
  numerous accolades, including recognitions from the Black Chief
  Officers Committee of IABPFF, Veterans of Foreign Wars of the U.S.,
  the Dallas Fire-Rescue Department, and Dallas BFFA; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hill enjoys the love and
  support of his wife, Cynthia; he takes great pride in their daughter
  Kristie, and he has had the pleasure of welcoming into his family
  six grandsons, Evann, Jamison, Xavier, Joshua, Cole, and Chandler;
  and
         WHEREAS, Citizens benefit each day from the contributions of
  those civic leaders who improve the quality of life in their
  communities, and House District 111 is indeed fortunate to have
  such passionate and engaged residents as James Hill; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate James F. Hill II on receiving a
  2023 Outstanding Texan Award for House District 111 from the Texas
  Legislative Black Caucus and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Hill as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
