R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The national observance of May as Older Americans
  Month provides a welcome opportunity to recognize Dr. Terre Denise
  Quinn of Allen, who was crowned Ms. Texas Senior America 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Open to participants over 60 years of age, Ms. Texas
  Senior America honors the achievements of senior women and promotes
  healthy aging, wellness, and mental well-being; the winner of the
  Texas competition advances to the Ms. Senior America pageant; and
         WHEREAS, Dr. Terre Quinn has been a practicing general
  surgeon in the Plano area for more than 27 years and specializes in
  diseases of the breast; a passionate advocate for women's health,
  she is involved in Sisters Network Inc., a national nonprofit
  organization that supports African American women affected by
  breast cancer; the proud mother of two adult sons, she also mentors
  premedical students, teaches youth Bible class, and she is a member
  of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the United States
  Tennis Association; she plans to use her platform as Ms. Texas
  Senior America to advocate for education, to encourage healthy
  lifestyle choices, and to raise awareness about domestic abuse; and
         WHEREAS, Through her many endeavors, Terre Quinn has set an
  outstanding example of leadership and dedication to which others
  may aspire, and she is indeed a deserving recipient of this notable
  honor; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dr. Terre Denise Quinn on being
  named Ms. Texas Senior America 2023 and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Dr. Quinn as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
