R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The passing of Angela Kay Johnston of Lake Jackson
  on April 20, 2023, at the age of 61, has brought an immeasurable
  loss to her family and friends; and
         WHEREAS, The former Angie Harrison was born in San Angelo on
  March 23, 1962; the daughter of a naval officer, she moved around
  the country with her family throughout her youth; in 1980, she
  graduated from Lakewood High School in Tacoma, Washington, and she
  subsequently pursued studies at Angelo State University; she
  married Officer Scott Smith of the Odessa Police Department in
  1984, and they became the parents of two daughters, Krystal and
  Kelsie; and
         WHEREAS, After her first husband tragically lost his life in
  the line of duty in 1988, she was fortunate enough to find love a
  second time with Billy Johnston; the couple married and settled in
  Lake Jackson in 1993; Mrs. Johnston welcomed two more daughters,
  Amber and Traci, into her blended family, and later in life, she
  experienced the joy of becoming "Gigi" to her six grandchildren,
  Noah, James, Robert, Mikey, Peyton, and Ethen; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Johnston was employed as a senior
  administrative specialist for Dow Chemical Company and Olin
  Corporation; deeply devoted to her faith, she was active at Willow
  Drive Baptist Church, where she taught 9th and 10th grade Sunday
  school alongside her husband for two decades; she was an
  enthusiastic fan of the Houston Astros, and she also enjoyed taking
  motorcycle rides with her loved ones and friends; and
         WHEREAS, Although Angie Johnston is deeply missed, she will
  forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those whom she
  blessed with her love, kindness, and friendship; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Angela Kay Johnston
  and extend profound sympathy to all who mourn her passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Angela Kay
  Johnston.
