R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Neldia Ahlquist received the 2022 Outstanding Woman |
|
|
of the Year Award from the Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce on |
|
|
March 8, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Recognized for her long record of dedicated service |
|
|
to the community and to the Brazosport Area Chamber of Commerce, |
|
|
Mrs. Ahlquist is currently a member of the board of directors and |
|
|
the ambassadors committee for the chamber, and she has also chaired |
|
|
its Leadership Brazosport program for the last 10 years; in |
|
|
addition, she sits on the boards of several other area |
|
|
organizations, including the Community Foundation of Brazoria |
|
|
County, the Brazosport Symphony Orchestra, and the 100 Club, and |
|
|
she has given generously of her time and talents to the Brazosport |
|
|
Symphony League, the Center for the Arts & Sciences, the Greater |
|
|
Angleton Chamber of Commerce, the Brazosport Business Roundtable, |
|
|
and the Brazosport Breakfast Lions Club; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Ahlquist has further demonstrated her support |
|
|
for area residents through her efforts with the symphony's |
|
|
Christmas concert food drive, which provided 183 meals to the |
|
|
Brazoria County Dream Center in December 2022, and she has also |
|
|
collected donations of food and other items for local shelters; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Alongside her philanthropic endeavors, |
|
|
Mrs. Ahlquist is a licensed insurance agent and the co-owner of |
|
|
Neldal Insurance Agency, which she founded in 1992 with her husband |
|
|
of 31 years, Dale; she is the proud mother of two children and the |
|
|
devoted grandmother of three grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Neldia Ahlquist has greatly benefited her fellow |
|
|
citizens through her wide-ranging contributions to the community, |
|
|
and she is indeed a deserving recipient of this prestigious honor; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Neldia Ahlquist on her receipt of |
|
|
the 2022 Outstanding Woman of the Year Award from the Brazosport |
|
|
Area Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mrs. Ahlquist as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
