R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Michelle Mares has ably served her fellow Texans as |
|
an aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner during |
|
the 88th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Mares joined the staff as a participant in the |
|
Texas A&M University Public Policy Internship Program; during her |
|
time at the State Capitol, she has provided vital assistance in |
|
handling a wide variety of challenging tasks, which have included |
|
managing the representative's schedule, conducting research, |
|
meeting with stakeholders, serving as a staffer for the House |
|
Committee on Ways and Means, and reviewing policy in such areas as |
|
health care, higher education, and agriculture and livestock; in |
|
addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|
service, she has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|
issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Mares is on track to graduate with a bachelor's |
|
degree in community health in May 2023; since enrolling at Texas |
|
A&M, she has found time to serve as a resident advisor, as well as |
|
assistant director and director of cultural programs for MSC CAMAC; |
|
moreover, she has earned placement on the dean's honor roll, and she |
|
has further distinguished herself as a Hispanic Scholarship Fund |
|
Scholar and as a recipient of the Wesley John and Anna Mae Neumann |
|
Scholarship; and |
|
WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed her |
|
duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is |
|
indeed deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Michelle Mares for her service as a |
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Chris Turner |
|
and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all |
|
her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Mares as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
