R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has distinguished herself in her |
|
responsibilities as committee director for the House Committee on |
|
Corrections and its chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, |
|
during the 88th Legislative Session; and |
|
WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Williams has provided |
|
vital assistance in handling a wide variety of responsibilities in |
|
support of Representative Herrero in his role as chair of the |
|
Corrections Committee; she helped organize committee proceedings, |
|
authored reports for bills voted out of the committee, and met with |
|
constituents, advocates, and special-interest groups to discuss |
|
topics relating to criminal justice, prison administration, and |
|
parole and community supervision; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Williams graduated from Bucknell University in |
|
2022 with an economics degree; while enrolled, she served as a |
|
teaching assistant in the school's economics department and as an |
|
intern in its office of communications; and |
|
WHEREAS, Miranda Williams has performed her duties as |
|
committee director with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
be it |

RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Miranda Williams for her service as |
|
committee director for the House Committee on Corrections and its |
|
chair, State Representative Abel Herrero, and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Williams as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
