R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Del Valle High School senior Noel Moctezuma Mendez |
|
|
has been accepted into Harvard University with a full-ride |
|
|
scholarship; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A Career & Technical Education student, Noel Mendez |
|
|
has been on the Information Technology pathway throughout his high |
|
|
school career; alongside his challenging course load, he currently |
|
|
serves as student council president, and he has been involved in |
|
|
debate, the National Honor Society, and the Red Cross; he has also |
|
|
participated in the Code2College program and has completed an |
|
|
internship with Eventbrite; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Mendez will attend Harvard University in the |
|
|
fall of 2023, becoming the first in his family to go to college, and |
|
|
he plans to study computer science; he hopes to one day work for a |
|
|
tech giant like Google or Apple, or to start his own technology |
|
|
company; he has received additional scholarships from Amazon and |
|
|
Dell; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting challenges and opportunities await this |
|
|
noteworthy young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join his family and |
|
|
friends in recognizing him as he embarks on a future bright with |
|
|
promise; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Noel Moctezuma Mendez on his |
|
|
acceptance into Harvard University with a full scholarship and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in all his |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Mendez as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
