R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Deputy Chief Bruce Kunz is retiring from the |
|
Mesquite Fire Department in 2023, drawing to a close an outstanding |
|
career with the agency that has spanned 34 years; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bruce Kunz joined the Mesquite Fire Department on |
|
April 18, 1988, and eight years later, he became a driver-engineer; |
|
he went on to become a lieutenant in 1999, and he accepted a |
|
position as captain in 2005; he subsequently served a brief stint as |
|
deputy chief before returning to the role of captain in 2013; in May |
|
2015, he was promoted to deputy chief of the EMS and Training |
|
Division; and |
|
WHEREAS, Among his many achievements, Chief Kunz was named |
|
the 2018 Officer of the Year in recognition of his exemplary |
|
leadership and professionalism; in addition, he received a Life |
|
Saving Award in 1998; and |
|
WHEREAS, Bruce Kunz's dedication, hard work, and commitment |
|
to excellence have greatly benefited the citizens of Mesquite and |
|
earned him the respect and admiration of his fellow firefighters, |
|
and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent as he |
|
embarks on the next exciting chapter of his life; now, therefore, be |
|
it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Deputy Chief Bruce Kunz on his |
|
retirement from the Mesquite Fire Department and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Chief Kunz as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
