R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tina Ly of Anahuac High School has been selected for |
|
|
the STEM Enhancement in Earth Science Summer High School Intern |
|
|
Program at The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space |
|
|
Research; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This nationally competitive program is a |
|
|
collaborative effort of UT Austin and NASA that allows students to |
|
|
work with scientists and engineers to conduct research on data |
|
|
received from NASA's earth-observing satellites; in addition, |
|
|
participants will complete a Python coding course, design Mars |
|
|
habitats, and analyze images from the International Space Station; |
|
|
and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This year, nearly 2,000 applicants vied for a spot |
|
|
in the program, and Tina Ly was one of only 95 individuals selected |
|
|
to participate; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Exciting opportunities and experiences await this |
|
|
outstanding young Texan, and it is a pleasure to join in recognizing |
|
|
her for this noteworthy accomplishment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tina Ly on her selection for the |
|
|
STEM Enhancement in Earth Science Summer High School Intern Program |
|
|
at The University of Texas at Austin Center for Space Research and |
|
|
extend to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Ly as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
