R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Lauren Harpe of Mont Belvieu has won many fans
  through her appearance on the popular reality TV program Survivor;
  and
         WHEREAS, A long-running series, Survivor is now in its 44th
  season, which began on March 1, 2023, with a cast of 18 competitors
  for the title of "Sole Survivor"; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Harpe made it through numerous challenges to
  become one of just seven remaining players vying to win the
  $1 million grand prize; moreover, she reached that point in the
  season as one of only two contestants to have never received a vote
  against them at one of the show's Tribal Councils; and
         WHEREAS, Originally from Port Arthur, Ms. Harpe is the mother
  of two young sons, Christopher and Braxton; she interrupted her
  education when her children were born, but through perseverance,
  she completed a master's degree; today, she teaches fourth grade in
  the Barbers Hill Independent School District; and
         WHEREAS, Back home in Texas, many colleagues, students,
  friends, and family members are rooting for Lauren Harpe in this
  high-profile competition, and she may indeed take pride in her
  success thus far; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Lauren Harpe on her participation
  in Season 44 of television's Survivor and extend to her sincere best
  wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Harpe as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
