R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Wesley Holt is retiring as superintendent of the |
|
|
Connally Independent School District on June 30, 2023, drawing to a |
|
|
close an exemplary tenure with the district that has spanned 33 |
|
|
years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Penelope High School and Baylor |
|
|
University, Mr. Holt has spent the entirety of his career in public |
|
|
education at Connally ISD, where he worked as a classroom teacher, |
|
|
coach, bus driver, assistant principal, and director of human |
|
|
resources before taking over as superintendent of schools in 2014; |
|
|
since that time, he has led the district in fostering a supportive |
|
|
and engaging learning environment that empowers students to build a |
|
|
strong foundation for the future; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Retirement will afford Mr. Holt more time to spend |
|
|
with his family, which includes his wife of 33 years, Melissa, his |
|
|
children, Alyssa and Tyler, and his granddaughter, Remi; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his leadership, professionalism, and |
|
|
commitment to excellence, Wesley Holt has greatly benefited the |
|
|
students of Connally ISD and earned the respect and admiration of |
|
|
his colleagues, and his contributions to the district will be |
|
|
remembered and appreciated for many years to come; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Wesley Holt on his retirement as |
|
|
superintendent of Connally Independent School District and extend |
|
|
to him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Holt as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
