R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Jayden McCoy of Tuloso-Midway High School in Corpus |
|
|
Christi achieved great distinction by winning the silver medal in |
|
|
the 4A long jump at the 2023 University Interscholastic League |
|
|
Track & Field State Meet; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Joining the other top high school competitors in |
|
|
Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 11, Mr. McCoy turned |
|
|
in a notable performance, claiming a second-place finish by |
|
|
recording a distance of 23 feet, 2.25 inches, on his first jump; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, By excelling in the state's premier showcase for |
|
|
high school track and field athletes, Jayden McCoy has ably |
|
|
represented his school and community, and he will cherish his |
|
|
memories of this outstanding accomplishment for years to come; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Jayden McCoy on his silver-medal |
|
|
performance in the 4A long jump at the 2023 UIL Track & Field State |
|
|
Meet and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. McCoy as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
