H.R. No. 2040
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Memories of a life filled with joyful times and
  meaningful accomplishments remain to comfort the family and friends
  of Clifton J. Cobb Jr. of Houston, who passed away on May 1, 2023, at
  the age of 78; and
         WHEREAS, Cliff Cobb was born in Harlingen to Jessie B. Martin
  and Sir Clifton Cobb Sr. on July 17, 1944; as a child, he moved with
  his mother to Taylor, where he grew up with his grandmother and
  extended family; and
         WHEREAS, A 1962 graduate of Price High School, Mr. Cobb
  continued his education at Texas Southern University, earning a
  degree in finance in 1966; after living in New York City for a time,
  he returned to Texas and enjoyed a successful career with Tenneco
  Oil Company that spanned 25 years; he also joined a human resources
  independent contract company; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Cobb drew strength from
  the rewarding marriage that he shared with his wife, Deanna
  Perdue-Cobb; he was the father of five children, Darryl, Corey,
  Cristi, Robin, and the late Ronald B. Cobb, and his family
  eventually grew to include 10 grandchildren and 4
  great-grandchildren; an aficionado of wine and cigars, Mr. Cobb
  also enjoyed sports, fishing, and barbecuing; and
         WHEREAS, While his loss is difficult to bear, Cliff Cobb
  leaves behind numerous friends and loved ones whose lives are far
  richer for having known him, and he will always hold a treasured
  place in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Clifton J. Cobb Jr.
  and extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cliff Cobb.
