R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Emily Amps ably served her fellow Texans during her
  years as chief of staff in the office of State Representative Chris
  Turner; and
         WHEREAS, First joining the representative's staff in 2009,
  Ms. Amps provided vital leadership and handled a wide variety of
  challenging tasks during her tenure, such as mentoring staffers and
  interns, supporting the House Democratic Caucus, acting as director
  of the House Business and Industry Committee, and helping to craft
  policy in the areas of business and labor, higher education, and
  real estate and property rights; dedicated to child safety, she
  advocated for legislation involving child car seat safety, and she
  is a certified car seat installer; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Amps previously worked on the campaigns of
  former U.S. Representatives Chet Edwards and Martin Frost, and she
  also served as chief of staff for State Representative Paula
  Pierson, as communications director for State Senator José
  Rodríguez, and as finance director for the House Democratic
  Campaign Committee; since leaving the legislature in 2021, she has
  continued her work in public policy and advocacy as the director for
  policy and politics with the Texas AFL-CIO; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Dallas, Ms. Amps holds bachelor's and
  master's degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington; in all
  her endeavors, she has enjoyed the love and support of her husband,
  Eric Mora, and she takes great pride in her son, Tristan; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed public employee performed her duties
  as chief of staff with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Emily Amps for her service as chief of
  staff in the office of State Representative Chris Turner and extend
  to her sincere best wishes for continued success in all her
  endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Amps as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
