R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |
|
memories of James L. Johnston of Kingwood, who passed away on |
|
April 30, 2023, at the age of 83; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on |
|
August 26, 1939, Jim Johnston was the son of James and Dorothea |
|
Johnston; he grew up with the companionship of three siblings, |
|
Nancy, Kenny, and Patti Ann, and he went on to attend the University |
|
of Houston; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Johnston answered his country's call to duty |
|
during the Vietnam War and served as a captain in the United States |
|
Air Force; after returning to civilian life, he pursued a career in |
|
financial planning and insurance sales; outside of work, he enjoyed |
|
such activities as hunting, camping, and riding motorcycles; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Johnston was blessed with |
|
the love and support of his wife, Lanelle Johnston, whom he married |
|
in 1962; he was the proud father of a son, James, and his cherished |
|
family further included a number of grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Jim Johnston is deeply missed, he has left |
|
his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever |
|
treasure; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of James L. Johnston and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to all those who mourn his passing; and, be |
|
it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jim |
|
Johnston. |
