R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The members of Team Spicy Ketchup of Universal City
  distinguished themselves through their performance in the FIRST
  Tech Challenge World Robotics Championship in Houston; and
         WHEREAS, Team Spicy Ketchup participates in the FIRST Tech
  Challenge program sponsored by the FIRST in Texas Foundation;
  encompassing more than 900 teams from across the state, FIRST in
  Texas-FTC provides students with opportunities to design, build,
  program, and operate robots while developing STEM skills; the
  program also teaches conflict resolution, teamwork, and
  professionalism by uniting teams in alliances; and
         WHEREAS, During the 2022-2023 season, the FIRST Tech
  Challenge World Robotics Championship featured 192 robotics teams
  from around the world; Team Spicy Ketchup placed 11th in its
  division, and the group took home the second place Connect Award in
  recognition of their efforts to engage STEM professionals and
  inspire young students to learn more about robotics; and
         WHEREAS, Since the group's inception four years ago, the
  members of Team Spicy Ketchup have demonstrated a steadfast
  commitment to serving their community by hosting outreach events,
  such as movie screenings and pumpkin patch tours, and by mentoring
  elementary school robotics teams; the group's 11 members attend 5
  different schools in the San Antonio area; and
         WHEREAS, Through their participation at the FIRST Tech
  Challenge World Robotics Championship, the members of Team Spicy
  Ketchup have demonstrated tremendous skill, initiative, and
  dedication, and they are a source of great pride to their community;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the members of Team Spicy Ketchup
  on their performance at the FIRST Tech Challenge World Robotics
  Championship and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
