R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Pinthouse in Austin achieved great distinction by |
|
|
winning a silver award at the 2023 World Beer Cup competition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Established in 1996 and organized by the Brewers |
|
|
Association, the World Beer Cup is held annually in conjunction |
|
|
with the Craft Brewers Conference and BrewExpo America; during the |
|
|
competition, breweries from around the globe present beverages in |
|
|
more than 100 categories, and judges have the option to grant gold, |
|
|
silver, and bronze awards to excellent examples of each style; the |
|
|
2023 event featured more than 10,200 total entries from over 2,370 |
|
|
breweries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Pinthouse won a silver award in the hoppy lager |
|
|
category for its Lasso West Coast Pils, which blends elements of a |
|
|
German pilsner and a West Coast IPA; the brewery's director of |
|
|
quality, Tom Fischer, led the development of the beer; the 2023 |
|
|
World Beer Cup honor was the latest of many accolades for Pinthouse, |
|
|
which operates four businesses in the Greater Austin area, three |
|
|
Pinthouse Pizza brewpubs and a Pinthouse Brewing location; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The talented staff of Pinthouse are making creative |
|
|
contributions to the global beer industry, and their success at the |
|
|
World Beer Cup is a testament to the skill, enthusiasm, and |
|
|
dedication that they bring to their craft; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Pinthouse on winning a silver award |
|
|
at the 2023 World Beer Cup and extend to all those associated with |
|
|
the brewery sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Pinthouse as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
