R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The members of the archery team from Highland Park
  Elementary School in Austin achieved great distinction by winning
  the national championship at the 2023 NASP Western Nationals; and
         WHEREAS, Competing in the National Archery in the Schools
  Program meet on April 28 and 29 in Sandy, Utah, Highland Park's
  No. 1 fifth-grade team turned in an exceptional performance;
  compiling a final score of 3,169, the Scotties emerged triumphant
  in the 13-team field to clinch the first national archery title in
  the school's history; and
         WHEREAS, Highland Park's No. 2 fifth-grade team also
  excelled at nationals, securing a sixth-place finish with a final
  tally of 2,922; and
         WHEREAS, Archery has been an important part of student life
  at Highland Park Elementary since first being introduced to the
  curriculum in 2013, and the Scotties made their first appearance at
  nationals in 2017; and
         WHEREAS, Winning a national championship represents the
  culmination of countless hours of hard work and an unwavering
  commitment to excellence, and these outstanding young Texans will
  treasure the memory of this accomplishment for the rest of their
  lives; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Highland Park Elementary
  School archery team on winning the national championship at the
  2023 NASP Western Nationals and extend to the students and coaches
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Scotties as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
