R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Nocona High School girls' track team
  distinguished themselves with their performances at the 2023
  University Interscholastic League Track & Field State Meet; and
         WHEREAS, Joining the state's other top 2A competitors at Mike
  A. Myers Stadium in Austin on May 12, the Nocona contingent was led
  by Graci Brown; turning in an exceptional showing in multiple
  events, she raced to a winning time of 57.69 seconds in the 400
  meters, and she added a second gold medal in the 800 meters,
  crossing the finish line in 2 minutes, 15.84 seconds; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Brown also placed fourth in the long jump with a
  leap of 17 feet, 9 inches; moreover, she joined Ava Johnson, Ayden
  Patton, and Megyn Meekins on the 1,600-meter relay team, and the
  quartet achieved a sixth-place finish in a time of 4:06.72; Avery
  Crutsinger served as an alternate for the relay squad; and
         WHEREAS, By earning the right to compete in the state's
  premier showcase for high school track and field athletes, these
  determined young Texans have ably represented their school and
  community, and they may indeed reflect with pride on their
  accomplishments; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate members of the Nocona High School
  girls' track team on their participation in the 2A competition at
  the 2023 UIL Track & Field State Meet and extend to the athletes
  sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
