R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Stephanie Reyes became the first woman appointed
  city manager of the City of San Marcos on February 21, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, In February 2022, Ms. Reyes began serving as interim
  city manager, following the retirement of her predecessor; she has
  served the city with distinction in a number of capacities over the
  course of 22 years; named assistant city manager in 2019, she served
  prior to that as chief of staff, assistant director of human
  resources, and assistant to the city manager; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Reyes has worked extensively with local
  organizations over the course of her career; a Leadership San
  Marcos graduate, she has served on the board of the organization, as
  well as on the board of Community Action, Inc. of Central Texas; she
  was recognized for her two decades of distinguished service by the
  International City/County Management Association and the Texas
  City Management Association; and
         WHEREAS, Born and raised in San Marcos, Ms. Reyes attended
  San Marcos High School and went on to earn a master's degree in
  public administration from Texas State University; she also
  graduated from Leadership ICMA, an intensive two-year program in
  local government management; in all her endeavors, she enjoys the
  love and support of her husband, Andrew, and she is the proud mother
  of four children, DrewAnn, Anna, Andrés, and Gabriela; and
         WHEREAS, Stephanie Reyes has greatly benefited the residents
  of San Marcos through her skill, professionalism, and long-standing
  commitment to the community, and it is indeed a pleasure to
  recognize her contributions as she embarks on the next exciting
  chapter of her career in public service; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Stephanie Reyes on her appointment
  as city manager of the City of San Marcos and extend to her sincere
  best wishes for continued success with her important work; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Reyes as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
