R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Trace Johannesen was sworn in as mayor of the City of
  Rockwall on May 6, 2023; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Johannesen brings to his new role a wealth of
  knowledge and experience; prior to being named mayor, he was a
  member of the Rockwall City Council for three terms and was mayor
  pro tem for more than a year; his civic contributions have also
  included serving as the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation
  council liaison and as a member of the Rockwall Emergency Services
  Corporation board and the finance and airport board committees; in
  addition, he has given generously of his time and talents to such
  organizations as the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, 100
  Business Leaders of Rockwall County, and Rockwall County Republican
  Men's Club; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed public servant is a graduate of
  Texas A&M University, and he is currently a senior client partner
  at Toptal; a fourth-generation U.S. Marine, he is a veteran of
  Operation Iraqi Freedom, with a total of five years on active duty;
  today, he gives back to his fellow veterans as second vice commander
  of Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117, and he is also a founding
  member of the Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance; and
         WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Johannesen benefits from
  the love and support of his wife, Amy, as well as their five
  children, Kassidy, Joshua, Cash, Roman, and Caroline; and
         WHEREAS, A committed champion of his community, Trace
  Johannesen can reflect with great pride on his contributions to its
  strength and prosperity as he takes on this challenging new role;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Trace Johannesen on being sworn in
  as mayor of Rockwall and extend to him sincere best wishes for the
  future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mayor Johannesen as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
