R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Trace Johannesen was sworn in as mayor of the City of |
|
Rockwall on May 6, 2023; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Johannesen brings to his new role a wealth of |
|
knowledge and experience; prior to being named mayor, he was a |
|
member of the Rockwall City Council for three terms and was mayor |
|
pro tem for more than a year; his civic contributions have also |
|
included serving as the Rockwall Economic Development Corporation |
|
council liaison and as a member of the Rockwall Emergency Services |
|
Corporation board and the finance and airport board committees; in |
|
addition, he has given generously of his time and talents to such |
|
organizations as the Rockwall Area Chamber of Commerce, 100 |
|
Business Leaders of Rockwall County, and Rockwall County Republican |
|
Men's Club; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed public servant is a graduate of |
|
Texas A&M University, and he is currently a senior client partner |
|
at Toptal; a fourth-generation U.S. Marine, he is a veteran of |
|
Operation Iraqi Freedom, with a total of five years on active duty; |
|
today, he gives back to his fellow veterans as second vice commander |
|
of Terry Fisher American Legion Post 117, and he is also a founding |
|
member of the Rockwall Veterans Business Alliance; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Johannesen benefits from |
|
the love and support of his wife, Amy, as well as their five |
|
children, Kassidy, Joshua, Cash, Roman, and Caroline; and |
|
WHEREAS, A committed champion of his community, Trace |
|
Johannesen can reflect with great pride on his contributions to its |
|
strength and prosperity as he takes on this challenging new role; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Trace Johannesen on being sworn in |
|
as mayor of Rockwall and extend to him sincere best wishes for the |
|
future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mayor Johannesen as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
