R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Patricia Ann Vasquez of San Antonio has devoted her |
|
life to empowering minority communities to break the cycle of |
|
generational poverty; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Vasquez currently serves on the board for Ignite |
|
Community Solutions, which offers evidence-based, trauma-informed |
|
approaches to equip youth and adults with the psychological, |
|
social, and practical tools they need to improve their lives; the |
|
organization's initiatives include the ClearPath program as well as |
|
other community resources and learning opportunities; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her work with ICS, Ms. Vasquez has played an |
|
instrumental role in promoting youth development, helping |
|
ex-offenders reenter society, assisting individuals in substance |
|
abuse recovery, and addressing unemployment and underemployment; |
|
in addition, her efforts have helped ICS obtain recognition from |
|
the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Choice |
|
Neighborhoods program; and |
|
WHEREAS, Admired for her compassionate nature and visionary |
|
leadership, Patricia Ann Vasquez has made a positive and meaningful |
|
difference in the lives of countless Texans, and she is indeed |
|
deserving of special recognition for her many contributions; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Patricia Ann Vasquez for her service to |
|
Ignite Community Solutions and extend to her sincere best wishes |
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Vasquez as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
