R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Manaal Shaikh has distinguished herself in her |
|
|
responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office of State |
|
|
Representative Victoria Neave Criado during the 88th Legislative |
|
|
Session; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A participant in the Texas Legislative Internship |
|
|
Program, Ms. Shaikh has provided vital assistance in handling a |
|
|
wide variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable |
|
|
experience in the field of public service, she has learned more |
|
|
about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the |
|
|
Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Shaikh is a first-generation Pakistani |
|
|
American, whose parents immigrated to the United States from |
|
|
Pakistan in the 1990s; she has brought to her role as a legislative |
|
|
aide previous experience as a volunteer with the grassroots |
|
|
organization Done Waiting and as an intern in a political campaign |
|
|
in Oklahoma; following her graduation from The University of Texas |
|
|
at Dallas, she intends to pursue graduate studies in international |
|
|
relations and public policy with a view toward a career in |
|
|
diplomacy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Manaal Shaikh has performed her duties as a |
|
|
legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed |
|
|
deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore, |
|
|
be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Manaal Shaikh for her service as a |
|
|
legislative aide in the office of State Representative Victoria |
|
|
Neave Criado and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success in all her endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Shaikh as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
