R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Kaye Boehning has been named the Houston District |
|
Rural Business Owner of the Year for 2023 by the Small Business |
|
Association Houston District Office; and |
|
WHEREAS, Each year, SBA and SCORE cohost National Small |
|
Business Week to recognize small businesses across the United |
|
States for their contributions to the economy; during the event, |
|
nine district winners were honored in an awards celebration, and |
|
Ms. Boehning was selected in recognition of her outstanding work as |
|
the director of Tomorrow's Promise in Huntsville; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Boehning became involved in education after |
|
visiting a Montessori school where she was considering enrolling |
|
her son, and she began volunteering at the school and then working |
|
there as a full-time employee; after moving to Huntsville in 1996, |
|
she completed her training in Montessori teaching, and she opened |
|
her own school, Tomorrow's Promise, on September 2, 1997; since |
|
that time, the school has grown to encompass multiple locations, |
|
and today, it operates as a nonprofit organization; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through her able leadership and unwavering |
|
dedication, Kaye Boehning has made a lasting, positive difference |
|
in the lives of countless young Texans, and she may indeed reflect |
|
with pride on her accomplishments; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kaye Boehning on being named the |
|
2023 Houston District Rural Business Owner of the Year by the Small |
|
Business Association Houston District Office and extend to her |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Boehning as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
