R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Byrleen K. Terry is marking 49 years of service with |
|
the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 2023, and this occasion provides a |
|
fitting opportunity to reflect on her outstanding record of |
|
achievement; and |
|
WHEREAS, Currently serving as treasurer, Mrs. Terry first |
|
joined the Marlin Chamber of Commerce in 1974, and over the course |
|
of her tenure, she has also held the office of president; she has |
|
been recognized by the chamber with a Business Professional of the |
|
Year award and the Parrish/Goddard Award, and she has twice |
|
received the President's Award; and |
|
WHEREAS, This esteemed woman has further benefited her |
|
community by giving generously of her time and talents to numerous |
|
other organizations, including the Marlin Independent School |
|
District Board of Managers, the Falls County Appraisal District, |
|
the Salvation Army of Marlin, and the Betts Foundation; in |
|
addition, she has served as the executive director of the City of |
|
Marlin Housing Authority since 2016; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Terry previously enjoyed a rewarding career in |
|
the banking industry that spanned nearly four decades, during which |
|
time she held leadership positions at Marlin National Bank, |
|
Guaranty Bank, and Citizens State Bank; from 2012 to 2016, she |
|
worked for Falls Community Hospital and Clinic in public relations |
|
and as a grant writer; in all her endeavors, she benefits from the |
|
love and support of her family, which includes her husband, Rocky, |
|
her children, Cacee and Barrett, and her four grandchildren, Reese, |
|
Myles, Lawson, and Tripp; and |
|
WHEREAS, Byrleen Terry has contributed to the prosperity and |
|
vitality of her community through her outstanding endeavors in |
|
behalf of the Marlin Chamber of Commerce, and in so doing, she has |
|
earned the respect and admiration of her fellow citizens; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Byrleen K. Terry for her 49 years of |
|
service to the Marlin Chamber of Commerce and extend to her sincere |
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mrs. Terry as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
