R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Christianna Augusta McAfee has distinguished
  herself in her responsibilities as a legislative aide in the office
  of State Representative Christian Manuel during the 88th
  Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. McAfee first joined the staff as an intern but
  was later promoted to a full-time legislative aide; during her
  tenure, she has provided vital assistance in handling a wide
  variety of challenging tasks; in addition to gaining valuable
  experience in the field of public service, she has learned more
  about the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the
  Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Natasha McCray and Jeremy McAfee,
  Sr., Ms. McAfee graduated summa cum laude from Beaumont United High
  School as a member of the Class of 2022; she is currently a pre-law
  student at The University of Texas at Austin, where she is pursuing
  a bachelor's degree in communication and leadership, with a minor
  in African and African diaspora studies; active in her campus
  community, she has joined the UT Black Studies Department Student
  Outreach Coordinating Team and served the Black Student Alliance
  Freshman Action Team as co-chair, executive ambassador, and
  delegate; moreover, she has volunteered with the Austin Humane
  Society and taken part in a junior fellowship with the Austin
  Independent School District board of trustees; her achievements
  also include being crowned queen of the Neches River Festival in
  Beaumont in April 2022, becoming the first African American to hold
  that title; and
         WHEREAS, Christianna McAfee has performed her duties as a
  legislative aide with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Christianna Augusta McAfee for her
  service as a legislative aide in the office of State Representative
  Christian Manuel and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. McAfee as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
