R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of
  mutual devotion and shared experiences, and Don and Lyn Brown are
  celebrating this joyous milestone in their marriage on August 11,
  2023; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Brown met in grammar school and were
  joined in matrimony in 1973 at First Christian Church in Lexington;
  over the years, they have been blessed with a treasured family that
  includes their children, Stacy and Stephen, their son-in-law, Mark
  Mueller, and their three grandchildren, Hudson, Julia, and Beth;
  and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of Texas A&M University, Mr. Brown
  enjoyed a long and rewarding career as a chemist with the State of
  Texas; Mrs. Brown earned a degree from The University of Texas at
  Austin and worked for many years for the Texas Agricultural
  Extension Service; retirement has afforded the couple the
  opportunity to travel with family and friends; Mrs. Brown also
  likes to garden, and cattle ranching is Mr. Brown's passion; and
         WHEREAS, Don and Lyn Brown have enjoyed a half century of
  abiding love and affection for each other, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Don and Lyn Brown on their 50th
  wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Brown as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
