R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Phillip Martin has rendered outstanding service to |
|
his colleagues and his fellow Texans as executive director of the |
|
House Democratic Caucus; and |
|
WHEREAS, An alumnus of The University of Texas at Austin, |
|
Mr. Martin earned a master of public policy degree from Harvard |
|
Kennedy School; he has been involved in politics and public policy |
|
for many years, and he began his affiliation with the Texas |
|
Legislature as the chief of staff for State Representative Garnet |
|
Coleman in 2006; over the course of his career, he has served as |
|
deputy director of Progress Texas, as policy director for the Texas |
|
Legislative Study Group, as a communications specialist for the |
|
Texas Democratic Trust, and as a blogger for the Burnt Orange |
|
Report; he currently manages the Environmental Defense Fund's |
|
initiative to promote the use of zero-emission trucks in Texas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Martin joined the House Democratic Caucus in |
|
2017, and he demonstrated exceptional dedication and leadership |
|
over the course of his tenure as its executive director, which |
|
concluded in 2021; and |
|
WHEREAS, The House Democratic Caucus has benefited immensely |
|
from Phillip Martin's steadfast commitment to its mission, and he |
|
may indeed reflect with pride on all that he has accomplished; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
Legislature hereby honor Phillip Martin for his exemplary service |
|
as executive director of the House Democratic Caucus and extend to |
|
him sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Martin as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
