R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Mercedes Sotelo has excelled in her role as an
  intern in the office of State Representative Victoria Neave Criado
  during the 88th Legislative Session; and
         WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Ms. Sotelo has provided
  vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks,
  including performing legislative research and creating graphics
  for social media; in addition to gaining valuable experience in the
  field of public service, she has learned more about the legislative
  process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Sotelo is a senior at Concordia University
  Texas, where she has distinguished herself by becoming the first
  member of a minority group to serve as student body president;
  moreover, she has greatly benefited the university community by
  establishing a food pantry program for students in need; following
  her graduation, she plans to pursue a law degree; and
         WHEREAS, Mercedes Sotelo has performed her duties as a
  legislative intern with skill and dedication, and she is indeed
  deserving of special recognition for her fine work; now, therefore,
  be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Mercedes Sotelo for her service as a
  legislative intern in the office of State Representative Victoria
  Neave Criado and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success in all her endeavors; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Sotelo as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
