R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera of Seale Junior High School has been |
|
|
named the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown |
|
|
Independent School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A solid education is vital for young people to |
|
|
become successful and productive adults, and those men and women |
|
|
who dedicate their careers to teaching make a positive difference |
|
|
in the lives of their students and in the greater community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Cabrera currently serves as a band director at |
|
|
Seale Junior High, where he has taught for seven years; under his |
|
|
able leadership, the band program has produced an award-winning |
|
|
concert band, marching band, indoor drumline, color guard, jazz |
|
|
band, and mariachi band; in addition, his bands have won numerous |
|
|
UIL Sweepstakes Awards; Mr. Cabrera also teaches band at Robstown |
|
|
Early College High School; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Miguel Cabrera exemplifies the passion, |
|
|
determination, and innovative spirit that are the hallmarks of our |
|
|
best teachers, and he has set a standard of excellence to which all |
|
|
in his profession may aspire; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Miguel Cabrera on his selection as |
|
|
the 2023 Secondary Teacher of the Year in the Robstown Independent |
|
|
School District and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success with his important work; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Cabrera as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
