R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Tom Ramsey received the 2022 Philanthropy Award from |
|
|
the Central Texas Community Foundation at the Round Rock Chamber's |
|
|
annual awards banquet held on February 15, 2023; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In 2003, Mr. Ramsey launched Celebration of Love, a |
|
|
program focused on supporting families in need during the Christmas |
|
|
season; he continued to expand its efforts, and from a project |
|
|
serving 500 families during the holidays, it has grown into a |
|
|
year-round organization; the Reaching Out Center is a food pantry |
|
|
that also provides clothing and job training; in addition, it has |
|
|
furnished food, water, and other aid to victims of natural |
|
|
disasters; its Soldiers of America initiative, established in 2007, |
|
|
offers both financial and emotional support to soldiers and |
|
|
military veterans; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Ramsey created the Tom Ramsey Foundation in 2019 |
|
|
to fill gaps in community services by building bridges between |
|
|
individuals, businesses, and civic organizations; Feed a Hero |
|
|
delivered food to hospital workers and first responders during |
|
|
2020; Mr. Ramsey's One Love, One World, One Community initiative |
|
|
has sought to assist communities in South and Central America where |
|
|
basic infrastructure is lacking; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Through his tireless efforts, Tom Ramsey has helped |
|
|
to make a positive difference in Williamson County and far beyond, |
|
|
and he is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Tom Ramsey on his receipt of the |
|
|
2022 Philanthropy Award from the Central Texas Community Foundation |
|
|
and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success in his |
|
|
endeavors; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Ramsey as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
