R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot adequately express the sorrow felt at
  the loss of Travis Garcia of Pleasanton, a gifted young athlete
  whose life was tragically cut short on March 15, 2022, at the age of
  19; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Eric Garcia and Abby Rains, Travis Garcia
  was a superb golfer with a promising future ahead of him; he was a
  graduate of Pleasanton High School, where he helped the Eagle golf
  team advance to state in 2021, and he was twice named PHS Most
  Valuable Player; at the time of his death, he was continuing to
  compete in the sport while working toward a criminal justice degree
  at the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, New Mexico; and
         WHEREAS, As he pursued his dream of becoming a professional
  golfer, Mr. Garcia impressed others with his strong work ethic and
  his determination to succeed; he was well-liked and widely admired
  in his close-knit community, where his untimely passing inspired a
  tremendous outpouring of prayers and sympathy; and
         WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm smile, a caring and generous
  nature, and an unfailingly positive attitude, Travis Garcia
  brightened the world for those who were fortunate enough to know
  him, and they will forever hold him close in their hearts; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 88th Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Travis Garcia and
  extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Travis
  Garcia.
