A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to meetings of the board of directors of a municipal |
|
|
utility district. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter C, Chapter 54, Water Code, is amended |
|
|
by adding Section 54.104 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 54.104. MEETINGS. (a) A regular or special meeting of |
|
|
the board of a district must be held at a publicly accessible |
|
|
location inside or not more than five miles outside the territory of |
|
|
the district. |
|
|
(b) This section does not prohibit the board of a district |
|
|
from holding an open or closed meeting by telephone conference call |
|
|
or videoconference call in accordance with Chapter 551, Government |
|
|
Code. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
