A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the prohibition of tolls on a portion of Interstate |
|
|
Highway 635. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. The heading to Subchapter B, Chapter 372, |
|
|
Transportation Code, is amended to read as follows: |
|
|
SUBCHAPTER B. TOLL PROJECT OPERATION; LIMITATION ON TOLL |
|
|
COLLECTION |
|
|
SECTION 2. Subchapter B, Chapter 372, Transportation Code, |
|
|
is amended by adding Section 372.059 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 372.059. TOLLS PROHIBITED ON PORTION OF INTERSTATE |
|
|
HIGHWAY 635. The department may not charge a toll, either directly |
|
|
or indirectly through an agreement with another toll project |
|
|
entity, on the portion of Interstate Highway 635 between its |
|
|
intersection with Interstate Highway 30 and its intersection with |
|
|
U.S. Highway 75. |
|
|
SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives |
|
|
a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as |
|
|
provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this |
|
|
Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this |
|
|
Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
