A BILL TO BE ENTITLED

AN ACT
|

|
relating to the authority of a county to administer a used tire buy |
|
|
back program. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Section 361.153(a), Health and Safety Code, is |
|
|
amended to read as follows: |
|
|
(a) A county may appropriate and spend money from its |
|
|
general revenues to manage solid waste and to administer a solid |
|
|
waste program, including a program to buy back used tires or tires |
|
|
that may no longer be used for their intended purpose, and may |
|
|
charge reasonable fees for those services. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
