A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
|
|
|
AN ACT
|
|
|
relating to the timely processing of certain requests relating to a |
|
|
person released on parole or mandatory supervision. |
|
|
BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |
|
|
SECTION 1. Subchapter D, Chapter 508, Government Code, is |
|
|
amended by adding Section 508.1145 to read as follows: |
|
|
Sec. 508.1145. PROCESSING OF INFORMATION REQUESTS RELATING |
|
|
TO RELEASEES. |
|
|
To the extent practicable, a parole officer shall: |
|
|
1. Complete the processing of a request relating to a |
|
|
releasee's employment, including all necessary paperwork, not |
|
|
later than the thirtieth calendar day after the date the officer |
|
|
receives the request. |
|
|
2. Complete the processing of a request relating to the |
|
|
completion of a releasee's term of parole or mandatory supervision, |
|
|
including all necessary paperwork, not later than the thirtieth |
|
|
calendar day after the date the officer receives the request. |
|
|
SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2023. |
