SENATE RESOLUTION NO. 6

In Memory |

of |
|
Erby Glenn Eikner |
|
|
WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Erby |
|
Glenn Eikner of Tyler, who passed away on October 28, 2022, at the |
|
age of 73; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of Tyler, Erby Eikner was born on |
|
October 14, 1949, to Erby and Brownie Gertrude Eikner; he |
|
graduated from John Tyler High School and attended Stephen F. |
|
Austin State University, where he received his bachelor of |
|
business administration degree; he went on to enjoy a rewarding |
|
career as business manager of Maddox Air Conditioning and retired |
|
after 32 years of service; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Eikner gave back to his community through his |
|
active involvement in the Tyler-Rose City Kiwanis Club; as a |
|
member of the Kiwanis, he held many roles at the local, division, |
|
district, and international levels of the organization; he also |
|
served as president of the board of directors at Camp Tyler, an |
|
outdoor learning program for youth, and volunteered his time at |
|
St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church's food pantry; and |
|
WHEREAS, Deeply devoted to his family, Mr. Eikner enjoyed |
|
the love and support of his wife, Francine, their two children, |
|
Stephanie and Matthew, and their grandchildren and |
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Erby Eikner led a rich and purposeful life |
|
centered around his family and his community, and he will forever |
|
be remembered with great admiration and affection by all who were |
|
fortunate enough to know him; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the Senate of the State of Texas, 88th |
|
Legislature, hereby pay tribute to the memory of Erby Glenn |
|
Eikner and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: |
|
to his wife, Francine Eikner; to his daughter, Stephanie |
|
Lassanske, and her husband, Tom; to his son, Matthew Eikner, and |
|
his wife, Tammy; to his brother, Conny Eikner, and his wife, |
|
Mary; to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and to his |
|
many other relatives and friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this Resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas Senate adjourns |
|
this day, it do so in memory of Erby Eikner. |
